Znojmo
This town is located in a hilly region amidst beautiful vineyards. A quick stopover allows plenty of time to explore the historical center, the castle and a few buildings. Znojmo is 206 kilometres from Prague and can be reached by car in approximately 2½ hours.

Fromt the top of Znojmo's town hall, visitors have a wonderful view over Znojmo and the surrounding magnificent landscape. Znojmo's Rotunda svaté Kateřiny (Rotunda of Saint Catherine) is a romanesque rotunda and one of the oldest in Czech Republic.
It contains a unique series of romanesque paintings. The town's catacombs are 27 kilometres in length, and are partially accessible to the public. In the past, these subterranean tunnels were used as cellars. They were first interconnected in the 17th century in order to protect the town's residents during war.
The Historical Znojmo Grape Harvest Festival
This traditional town celebration, every year in September, commemorates the visit of the Czech King Jan of Luxembourg and his retinue to Znojmo in 1327. It includes a grand costume pageant and celebrations of “burčák” (young part-fermented wine) and wine with a music and dance review.
Tne venue for the festival is the historical town center and the Loucky Monstery where the jousting tournament traditionally takes place. It's a various program which proposes a colourful celebration with dance, music and other entertainements traditionally...
