Náchod
An hour-and-a-half east of Prague lies the pretty town of Náchod awaits in a charming valley at the foot of the Eagle Mountains (Orlické hory).

Founded in the 14th century at a strategic location on an international trade route. Here, its founders built a primitive medieval castle, which was later transformed into a splendid Renaissance and baroque chateau that dominates the city to this day.
Like many towns in the Czech Republic, Náchod has its own brewery and beer: Primátor.
You can reach Náchod from Prague by car along the D11/E67 motorway. (Our tip: a slight detour will take you past the small town of Kuks, with its famous sculptures by Matthias Braun.)
Staying in town: Our recommendation for spending the night: the Hotel Tommy Wellness and Congress Center. Not offer only does it offer excellent accommodations and a fine rustic restaurant, but the wellness center is a great place to relax. Also, the restaurant and hotel are entirely smoke-free.
