Prague Clubs & Nightlife

Nightlife in Prague (photo: Mecca)

Prague has one of the greatest nightlife scenes in the world. You will love this town! Some great places: Lucerna Music Bar, Vodičkova 36, just a few minutes' walk from Wenceslas Square, still belongs to the largest and most visited music clubs in Prague. This is undoubtedly the best 80's club in Prague.

The Roxy Club is a popular nightclub on lively Dlouhá street, close to Old Town Square. The club is one of the Prague’s best-known clubs and has attracted big name DJs over the years, often playing drum ‘n’ bass, jungle and techno. Mondays and Fridays are always good. Cheap cocktails in the back bar.

Attached to the Roxy is the Roxy NoD, an alternative space featuring alternative and experimental music, theatre and more. An interesting counterpoint to the Roxy Club.

La Fabrique Bar & Club, Uhelný Trh 2, Old Town, Prague 1 is very popular with both locals and tourists,

The Abaton might be a bit out of the city centre, but it's well worth the trek to catch your favourite band live here - local or touring punk, metal, hip-hop or alternative. If it isn't live music, then the Abaton is just to indulge in a night of clubbing debauchery. And when other clubs are closed or dead, on Mondays the Abaton hosts their "Free Mondays" parties, with live local and touring bands playing for free.

You can also try Club Mecca, U průhonu 3, Prague 7. Mecca is one of the best techno clubs in Prague.

Whenever good independent bands tour through Prague, there's a very good chance they'll be playing at Palace Akropolis. The audience of the Akropolis Palace is very cosmopolitan, and performances organized as part of the "United Colours of Akropolis" or "EuroConnections" cycles are a favourite among Prague residents of foreign origin. Be sure to get your tickets early, as the venue does sell out quite often.

Rock Cafe in Národní Třída, is a very nice place to relax, but not for heavy drinkers or clubbers. Open till 3am on weekends; weekly concerts, nightly DJs
