Tennis and Squash

It’s your turn to play! (photo: utrecsports.org)

What better way to get some exercise than hitting the court! Tennis and squash have become increasingly popular among Czechs, and you will find lots of sport centers in the country where you can practice these sports. Howeverm, at many courts it is compulsory to book one week in advance and to take a private course.

There is no lack of English-speaking instructors, and the price for an hour still remains affordable.

There are about ten squash grounds in Prague, but the game's popularity means that it is easier to find a partner than a free court. Below are some addresses of clubs. Ready to play?

Tennis: Tennis Club Prague (Prague 1), Hamr Tenis (Záběhlická, Prague 10), Czech Lawn Tennis Club Prague (Tennis courts near the centre of town. Stvanice island, Prague 7), Areál SK Aritma ( Nad Lávkou 5, Prague 6).

Squash: Esquo Squashcentrum Strahov (Vaníčkova 2b, Prague 6), Squash 99 (Kokořínská 28, Prague 8), Squash & Fitness Centrum Arbes (Arbesovo náměstí 15, Prague 5), Squash Arena (Cholupická 431, Prague 4), Squash Centrum Hastal (Haštalská 20, Prague 1), ABS Squash Centrum (Wenceslas Square - Václavské náměstí 13-15, Prague 1).
