Despite its somber modern suburbs, the city of Písek offers various interesting sights and historical features, the most famous being the oldest stone bridge in Central Europe, built in the 13th century.

On Písek's Old Town Square, baroque and Renaissance houses still stand today, and the remains of the local castle can still be found in Jungmannová street. Tou can also visit the town museum, with displays on such regional phenomena as the local gold rush. This historical period is celebrated every August with a Championship of Gold Diggers.

Other sights worth seeing are the Otava Hotel, located in the city center. Its beautiful façade was inspired by the paintings of Mikulaš Aleš, a famous 19th-century Czech artist. Písek awaits your visit
