Now in its sixth year, the Stimul Festival brings great alternative music acts to Prague. Past festivals have featured such performers as Diamanda Galas, Mogwai, and Anti-Pop Consortium. This year's acts represent industrial, noise, and alternative rock.
Starting the three-concert series on September 28 are Chicagoans Wilco and John Grant, former lead vocalist for Denver-based The Czars. The concert starts at 8pm at the Archa Theater. Advance tickets at the Archa Theater are CZK 720, or CZK 790 at Ticketpro and Ticketportal.
Next up, on October 22, is a free concert at the Klub 4 student club, featuring Dutch improvised noise artist Gert-Jan Prins. The opening acts are Switzerland's Herpes Ö DeLuxe and RM 74.
And this year's Stimul Festival closes on October 30 with Throbbing Gristle, who will fill the auditorium at the Archa Theater with their wall of industrial noise, starting at 8pm.
Tickets are CZK 750 at the Archa Theater and at Ticketpro (plus commission).
