Alfons Mucha at the Municipal House
July 10, 2010 - Thanks to his Art Nouveau posters, Alfons Mucha is perhaps the best known Czech artist. Now, the Mucha Foundation is presenting an exhibition of his works on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

And what better place to show the works of Mucha than in that temple of Art Nouveau architecture, the Municipal House, located in the heart of Prague on Republic Square (Náměsti Republiky). From July 2 to September 30, fans of Alfons Mucha will be on cloud nine.
Hundreds of designs, photographs and paintings representative of Mucha’s work will be on display. After it closes at the end of the summer, it will travel to other towns around the country.
Also on display will be studies Mucha made for his grand Slav Epic, which is currently on display in Moravský Krumlov because a suitable location has never been found to display these immense canvases in Prague.
