An outstanding exhibit on the Luxembourg dynasty
November 8, 2010 -The Luxembourg rule of Bohemia coincided with the golden age of Medieval Bohemia and Prague. Don't miss this excellent exhibition marking the 700th anniversary of the marriage between John of Luxembourg and Elisabeth Premyslid, which marked the beginning of the Luxembourg reign.
It has been seven centuries since the marriage between John and Elisabeth brought together the House of Luxembourg with the last member of the native Bohemian Premyslid dynasty. Their union launched Bohemia into a golden age.
Under their son, the future Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Empire, Prague became a center of art and education and the capital of the empire.
This outstanding exhibition recalls this momentous occassion with rare and precious objects, all in a Gothic building that once belonged to Elisabeth herself.
The exhibition runs until February 6 at the Stone Bell House. Open daily except Monday. Admission CZK 180 (adult), 90 (student/senior), CZK 360 (family).
