The Czech Republic is nothing if not a musical country. You can hear concerts year-round - from small churches to large concert halls - but during the advent season, musical stars from all over the world descend upon Prague, and this year is no exception. There is Jose Carrera, for example, appearing December 15, 2008 at the Congress Palace. Tickets may be reserved both from the Czech Republic and abroad via ticketpro.cz. If you have any difficulties making a reservation, just send us an email and we will try to recommend other solutions. Also performing during the Christmas season is Czech soprano Eva Urbanová, who will appear at Zofin palace.
As everyone knows, dance's greatest stars shine in Russia, but on December 18 they will illuminate Prague's Congress Palace with the arrival of the Moscow Ballet for one evening dedicated to Swan Lake. Click here to reserve tickets.
Many other exciting shows are in the planning, and we will be sure to let you know as they are announced.
In any case, if you are planning to come to Prague during Christmas, it is good to know that airfares are generally less expensive when buying tickets well in advance and that it is often a good idea to compare prices before purchasing. The same goes for hotels! And to fully take in Prague's Christmas, don't forget to visit some of the many Christmas markets. Hope to see you soon!
