Early Music Festival in Prague
July 28, 2010 -Each year Prague hosts numerous classical music festivals guaranteed to please die-hard fans and newcomers to the genre alike. One of the most interesting is the Early Music Festival, which this year takes place from 22 July to 8 August.
During the 11th annual Early Music Festival, this year held under the theme "The Rise of Virtuosity," features a rich program of internationally renowned artists, with a focus on music written in Bohemia in the 17th century.
The festival's main attraction is that it features not only music, but other arts as well, such as baroque theatre and dance.
On Sunday August 8, a splendid ballet will be presented at the Hybernia Theatre. Titled "Voyage en Europe," this four-act baroque ballet introduces audiences to France of the Sun King, Louis XIV. It will be presented by the talented baroque dance company L'Eventail with choreographer Marie-Genevieve Masset.
This unique historical and cultural event is not to be missed!
