Last year, EXPOLINGUA Praha 2006 welcomed more than 5,000 visitors, primarily young people between 15 and 25 years of age. Over the two days of the exhibition held at Národní dům in Prague 2 – Vinohrady, visitors had a unique opportunity to see 72 exhibitors from 13 countries from around the world. Exhibitors included international universities and language schools, learning software producers and organisations providing study exchange and study and work abroad programmes. Information on the various options for foreign language study in the Czech Republic was also available.
While there was increased interest in studying languages such as Japanese, Portuguese, Basque, Arabic and Chinese, visitors were most interested in language study abroad, followed by e-learning, educational CD-ROMs, textbooks and dictionaries.
The 17th International Fair for Languages, Education and Cultures, EXPOLINGUA Praha 2007, will welcome representatives from educational and cultural institutions from many countries. The seminar programme, traditionally an indispensable part of the fair, will focus mainly on study opportunities in Germany and Austria, providing students with comprehensive information from representatives of German and Austrian universities and cultural institutes.
During the seminar programme, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend popular mini language courses, attend presentations on the latest trends in language teaching and meet experts from Czech and international universities. EXPOLINGUA Praha is supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic and the Directorate-Generale for Education and Culture of the European Commission.
