Farmers' Markets in Prague
June 23, 2010 - Farmers' markets have long been unknown to Prague, and now all of a sudden it seems like they are everywhere. A trend that has been popular in other countries for many years has now come to the Czech Republic, with farmers selling their wares directly to customers at weekly or monthly markets.

Looking for fresh fish? Every week, the farmers' market on the Vltava embankment between Palacký Square and railroad bridge at Výtoň features trouts and other fish. If you like, you can have your fish grilled right then and there! For fresh vegetables, smalltime growers from the Elbe valley sell their products in Prague 6 at the Dejvická subway stop. The next market will take place 26 June 8am to 2pm. Also, during the holidays you will find a farmers' market at the large Holešovice in Prague 7, opposite Hall 22. Here, you can also buy meats, breads, cheeses and wines. Other markets exist every Friday at the Anděl stop in Prague 5. And on July 10, the first ever such market will be held in Karlín, from 8am to 2pm, near the Church of St. Cyril. Source: www.praha.eu
