"Khamoro" means "sun" in Romani, and this festival truly shines a light on gypsy culture with contemporary and traditional Roma music, Gypsy jazz, exhibitions, seminars, and dance workshops.

In addition to great music from throughout Europe - Marek Balog from the Czech Republic, Acquaragia Drom from Italy, Šutka from Macedonia, Lelo Nika from Denmark, Leonsia Erdenko from Russia, Romengo from Hungary and Nadara from Romania - the festival's accompanying program features an exhibition by German artist Otto Pankok and a “Days of Dutch Roma” exhibition organized in cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Prague.

One aim of the festival is to present Roma culture to non-Roma through lectures and seminars, for instance the two-day seminar "Roma culture as the part of European culture“ and "We’re on the long way," a program for young Roma and non-Roma people from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and the Netherlands.
