Massage and wellbeing within reach in Prague

October 2008 - Alleviating, releasing or vitalizing, massages have many virtues. Massage for physical therapy is quite common, and Asian massage has also become quite popular in the Czech Republic. Take advantage of your stay in Prague to try out some traditional or Asian massages.

Massage has many virtues. In Thailand and India, it is practised as both a preventive and therapeutic measure (photo: www.namjai.cz)

In India, massage has long been a part of life. Indeed, ayurvedic massage is more than a form of therapy, it is a way of promoting good health. Ayurvedic massage is a natural and effective method for stimulating the flow of energy, circulation and the metabolism, for nourishing and regenerating vital fabrics, and for eliminating toxins and relaxation.

Where to go

Ayurvedic massages are offered at the Ayuma center, located at Haštalská 27. Opened only one year ago, the center is an oasis of calm and relaxation. Its skilled masseuses can offer reflexology, head and neck, or full body massages.

As opposed to the usual erotic stereotypes, true Thai massage is a form of preventative care. In Thailand, it is even practised at hospitals and recognized as a form of therapeutic care by the Ministry of Health. This style of massage is very popular in Prague. It is usually practised by masseuses from Thailand.

Where to go

Sabai has three locations, including one in the Slovansky dum (Na přikopě 22). Another option is Thai Fit, also with three different location in or near the center. Nam Jai is located close to Old Town Square at Kaprova 11.
