Orient Express makes a stop in Prague
September 28, 2010 -Are you a fan of Agatha Christie ? A classic train enthusiast? Here is your chance to see the real Orient Express, complete with classic rail cars straight out of the 19th century.
Luxury and comfort - that is the image of the Orient Express, the mythical and romantic train that has never ceased to fascinate.
You, too, can admire this famous train with your own eyes. On October 7, the Orient Express will make a stop at Pragu'es Smichov station. Following a well-earned respite after its trip from Venice, it will continue on to London and Paris.
If you would like to experience the luxury first-hand, know that a Venice-Prague-Paris ticket costs a "mere" 2,360 euros for 4 nights.
If, on the other hand, you find yourself short on funds, you can at least feast your eyes on this beautiful train… with some imagination you can picture the train's heyday, when famous passengers included Marlene Dietrich, Jean Gabin, Mata Hari, Lawrence of Arabia… and, of course, famous fictional characters such as the inimitable Hercule Poirot.
