Prague Marathon - Tesco Prague Grand Prix 2010
August 31, 2010 -On 11 September, Prague will host the last event of the annual Prague International Marathon Running Circuit. The Tesco Grand Prix features a 10k men's event, a 5k women's event, plus several other options.
The Prague International Marathon is one of the city's most important sporting events. Each year, PIM features several events, with the full marathon in May and a half marathon in April. This 11 September will be the year's final event.
Every year, more women participate in the race. The marathon is open to the general public - amateurs and professionals alike, meaning that you can see the sport's greatest stars in action.
The races start at Old Town Square and include the following divisions:
- The METRO 10k Men's Race (individuals and teams) starts at 8.30pm
- The adidas 5k Women's Race (individuals and teams) starts at 5.30pm
- The Tesco Run for Life is a non-competitive 3.8k race to raise funds for cancer research. It starts at 6pm.
- The Hilton Cloud 9 Barmen's Race - in which teams of three run an obstacle course while carrying a tray of glasses - starts at 6.45pm
- In the Embassy Race, employees of embassies or Czech ministries compete in the men's or women's races, with the individual times of three team members added up to determine the final score.
