St. Vitus Cathedral again charges admission - Plus a list of free museums in Prague
August 3, 2010 -After four years of free admission, St. Vitus cathedral will charge admission again.
As of Monday, August 2, St. Vitus cathedral at Prague Castle will again charge admission. This means that, In order to admire the Alfons Mucha's stained-glass windows, the baroque tomb of St. John of Nepomuk, or the church's majestic nave, you will have to reach for your wallet.
You can also visit the cathedral as part of one of the two circuits offered at the Castle. The least expensive ticket costs CZK 250 CZK (approximately 10 Euros). The admission does not apply to people who come to pray at the cathedral.
As a reminder, if you are visiting Prague Castle, please bear in mind that the popular Golden Lane is closed for renovations.
While you're in Prague, make sure check out some of the city's museums: the city is home to more than 700 - a testimony to its cultural richness. Natrually, most museums charge an admission fee, but if you plan ahead, you can visit many of them for free or for just a symbolic fee of CZK 1.
