Summer outdoor cinemas in Prague
July 26, 2010 - With the warm summer weather, it's a shame to crawl into a dark theater to see the latest movie. Good thing Prague has several outdoor cinemas to choose from.

Summer in the city would not be the same without the outdoor cinema and music stage on Střelecký ostrov, located halfway between the National Theater and the Lesser Town. In addition to new movies like The Road (31 July), there are classics like Lolita (30 July) and Breathless (2 August).
Another traditional outdoor movie stage is in Karlin, organized by Czech Radio's Regina station, which shows recent Hollywood movies (PDF) such as Agora, The Ghost Writer, and Twilight. Tickets cost a mere CZK 25 !
Another theater is at the Občanská plovárna restaurant and club on the Vtlava river. The program (PDF) includes Sex & The City and Alice in Wonderland, among others. Movies start at 9.30 pm and tickets cost CZK.
And finally, there is the Kinobus (Cinema Bus), which will travel to different locations around Prague, showing primarily Czech films (unfortunately without English subtitles, so this is a good occasion to see how those Czech lessons went). The program and locations can be found here.
