Take a beer bath this summer
June 14, 2010 - Summer is here, time to relax and pamper yourself. And you can do so in a unique way in the town of Chodová Planá: baptized “the land of beer and wellbeing”, Chodová Planá is home to several breweries, including the more then 500-year-old Chodovar. Truly a city dedicated to beer.

In Chodová Planá, you can visit the town's traditional brewery, and you will also find a hotel, a restaurant, and a museum - but especially worth noting is a unique spa, Pravé Pivní Lázně. All of the spa's treatments - from baths to massages and food - include beer and mineral water: an experiment not to be missed, and the results are miraculous! Summer is without a doubt the best time to try out this unique combination, since during this time the town is also home to traditional beer festivals.
On June 19, for example, there will be the traditional beer-barrel races. In this world championship barrel racing contest, teams from many different breweries compete in a 600m race. On the occassion of the races, the town of Chodová Planá organizes a chodovar feast, the Chodské slavnosti.
In partnership with the nearby town of Marianské Lázně, the city also pays homage to classic cars, with a collection of old cars presented on July 3, followed by a race outside of Chodová Planá.
On July 9, discover the family brewery in a Mini Cooper! A "car navigation rally" inside the Chodovar brewery is crowned with a grand prize of a Mini Cooper.
Lastly, to close the season, a traditional Chodovar feast on August 21 invites you to taste the excellent Chodovar beer, enjoy the brewery gardens, and take in many activities, including rock concerts!
The brewery organizes shuttle buses with Plzeň and Karlovy Vary. Another good reason to go there!
