October 2007 - Tamara Gverdtsiteli is a singer of a variety of talents, the National Artist of Georgia and Russian Federation. She was born in Tbilisi. Tamara graduated from the conservatoire in Tbilisi as a pianist and a composer.

As long as she remember music was a part of her life. As a child in the early 70s she became the leading vocalist of the children's group "Mziuri" that was giving performances all over the former Soviet Union. When Tamara was 19, she became the first-prize-winner of the international contest "Krasnaya Gvozdika" in Sochi, then she took part in the pop-music competition in Drezden (1982) and then
there was the international contest "Gold Orpheus" in Sophia (1988) where she became the first-prize-winner.
She was a special guest at music festivals in Sopot (1989) and San-Remo (1990).In 1991 in Paris Tamara Gverdtsiteli became acquainted with Michel Legrand.
Their first performance together took place the same year. In 1994 the singer gave a recital in the famous concert hall "Olympia". A year later American audience applauded her in "Carnegy Hall". At the end of 1995 Tamara decided to come back to the Russian stage.She sings in eight languages - Russian, Georgian, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Ukrainian.
Her charming expressive style of singing, her rich captivating voice make her performances unforgettable. She is admired by her audience and is always welcome on the stages all over the world.
