Terracotta Army at Lucerna
May 2009 - After travelling to numerous countries around the world, the Terracotta Army arrives in Prague to present the famous Chinese warrior figures of the Emperor Qin Shihuangdi. The exhibition runs until October 28.

The Terracotta Army comes to Prague
A travelling exhibition of the famous terracotta soldiers unearthed in 1974 near Xian, China, had made its way to Prague. The famous figures were buries with the first emperor of China, Qin Shihuangdi, after his death in 210 B.C.
The exhibition features a dozen of the life-sized terracotta figures. The original site in China is estimated to be home to more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses (many of the figures have yet to be unearthed).
Visitors can also admire a collection of replicas of period weaponry (daggers, bows, bronze arrowheads…). Also on display are items of clothing from the time of Emperor Qin Shihuangdi, from the Zhou Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and the Qin Dynasty.
The original site of the Terracotta Army has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
