Tour de ski for Lukáš Bauer
January 2008 - The prestigeous ski competition was won by the Czech Lukáš Bauer. The success of Czech colors is sublined by 11th place of Martin Jakš and 12 place of Martin Koukal. The marathon of 8 races between December 28 and January 6 is extremely difficult and physically demanding. The last race finises on the ski slope…but the competitors have to climb it up until the finish!

5 out of 8 races took place in Czech Republic and the three final ones in Italian Val di Fiemme. Two races is in sprint and especially the one on the
Hradčanské náměstí square next to the Prague Castle was very spectacular with thousands of supporters all around.
Lukáš Bauer won the first two races, after the race in Prague he was the second but in the fourth race in Nové Město na Moravě he acquired again the golden jersey and he kept it untill the end. The second in the competition arrived after a nice sprint in the end Sommerfeldt from Germany in front an excellent italian Di Centa.
In feminine competition won Kalla from Sweden in front of Kuitunen from Finland and Follis from Italy. The majority of the participants will surely arrive on the World Classical Ski Championship which will take place in 2009 in Liberec, Czech Republic.
