U2 3D

April 16, 2010 - Legendary rock band U2 comes to life on the big screen in three dimensions.

Three-dimensional movies are all the rage lately, and not only at the multiplexes. The cosy little Kino Atlas, an A Tour Prague partner, has joined the craze with four showings of "U2 3D."

"U2 3D" is not some secret code, but the title of a new concert film featuring the Irish rock band U2, filmed in 3D during its 2006 Vertigo Tour. The concert film was shot at seven Latin American and two Australian concerts. It is the first three-dimensional live-action digital film.

The Kino Atlas is a modern but low-key cinema without all the fuss of multiplexes (and without the high prices). Totally renovated after being inundated in the 2002 floods, it features state-of-the-art technology in a human-sized atmosphere (two cinemas).

U2 3D plays Friday and Saturday (April 16 and 17) at 8.30pm, and Sunday and Tuesday (April 18 and 20) at 6.30pm and also Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday at 8.30pm (April 22, 23, 25 and 27) and Saturday and Monday (April 24 and 26) at 6pm.
