Summer Music Festivals in the Czech Republic

The summer season in the Czech Republic is filled with music festivals. We here offer an overview of some of the main annual events.
Rock For People, at the Festival Park in Hradec Králové, features seven stages with 120 bands from 20 countries. It is probably thelargest musical event in the Czech Republic.
Since 2001, the center of the Moravian town of Ostrava has been taken over every July by Colours of Ostrava. Over the course of four days, the festival presents local and international world music, rock and alternative music artists. There also are dance shows, theatre and children’s entertainment.
Masters of Rock is organised in mid-July in Vizovice. Every style of rock is features.
For one week in July, the Folk Holiday comes to the town of Náměšť nad Oslavou. Folk Holidays is actually several festivals in one: the main "Folk Holidays" music festival, the “Nest of Muses” (festival of music, dance, art and text workshops), the “Open Stage” mini-festival of amateur musicians children's workshops and night concerts.
SázavaFest is a multicultural festival along the Sazava River at the beginning of August. The festival usually features about ten bands, both Czech and international, representing various different styles.
For about the last 40 years, Vizovické trnkobraní has presented a medley of different styles in mid-August . You can hear rock bands, pop singers, world music and DJs.
Summer of Love takes place at the end of August at the Pardubice. This exclusively electronic music festival features trance, techno, electro, drum’n’bass, and house on five main stages and three small stages.
Other festival include Eurotrialog Mikulov, geared towards people looking for an alternative to mainstream music, and Hip Hop Kemp invites lovers of hip hop to Hradec Kralové's Festival Park.
