Holašovice

Located about 15 kilometres from České Budějovice, Holašovice can be explored on a short stopover during a jaunt through Southern Bohemia.
Small farmhouses, barns and baroque houses dating to the 19th century dot the streets of this picturesque village - which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
In the old days, villagers kept and sold fish, grown in nearby ponds. Every estate had a principal room, a granary, a hayloft, a pigsty and of one or two cowsheds.
Although many buildings have been restored, the original facades and decorative gables have been preserved to maintain the historical charm.
